Current Exhibitions
- Gardens Exhibition across the French Riviera until May 1: Along the Mediterranean coastline and in the countryside, the most beautiful parks and gardens are open to the public during the Côte d’Azur Gardens Festival. Be transported by the beauty of these ephemeral landscape creations designed by national and international landscaping teams. Take part in the numerous activities and exclusive visits which punctuate the almost month-long Festival des Jardins on the Côte d’Azur! Take part in floral art workshops, culinary tastings, conferences, garden exhibitions and even a judged landscaping contest. The festival opens to all audiences, free of charge, from March 25 to May 1, 2023. More information and a list of locations on the official website.
- Sculpture Exhibition in Monaco until May 10: See an exhibition that pays tribute to ‘The Sea is Green‘ installed in the gardens and urban spaces of Monte-Carlo. The art is created by Jean Boghossian, an abstract multidisciplinary artist whose works all bear, to varying degrees, traces of degradation by burning. Discover this work in different places: on the lawn of the Jardins des Boulingrins where, on 11 pillars, aluminum and steel sails will be hung. They will be created using smoke and paint. Sails, some in Atomium (original aluminum plates recovered in Brussels), some in canvas, painted by the artist, suspended in the wind on poles, will be installed in the gardens and urban spaces of Monte-Carlo. The Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo will also host an exhibition of the artist’s marine ceramics, where 20 to 30 exceptional ceramic shells will be displayed in the lobby, the main corridor and the winter garden under the Eiffel dome. This art exhibition runs from March 10 to May 10, 2023.
- Photography Exhibition in the Esterel until May 14: The “Photographers” exhibition is presenting a selection of 58 works by 15 renowned photographers at the Villa Logis d’Azur , opposite the port of La Napoule. The exhibition is from a private collection and mostly focuses on celebrity and fashion. It’s on until May 14, 2023, with free entry.
- Monet Art Exhibition in Monaco from July 8 to September 3: To celebrate the 140th anniversary of Claude Monet’s first visit to Monte-Carlo and the Riviera, the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco will devote its major summer exhibition to him. The exhibition runs from July 8 to September 3, 2023 and is showing more than 100 paintings from all over the world, including many masterpieces that have rarely been shown together – and one that has never been seen before. During presales (open until June 30) you can get tickets for €7 each, marked down from €14. Make a reservation via the Grimaldi Forum Monaco ticket office: +37799993000

School Holidays
Expect increases in tourism during all of the school holidays. Expect the beaches to be much busier with plenty of children and teenagers crowding the beach and markets during these dates.
Monaco School Holidays
Here is the official school schedule calendar from the Monaco government.
In Monaco, during school vacations, many Monaco residents leave to vacation at other destinations along the French Riviera or elsewhere around the world. Monaco fills up, instead, with tourists from France.
French Riviera School Holidays
To alleviate holiday traffic and crowded resorts, education authorities are divided into three geographic zones, with staggered winter and spring holiday periods. The French Riviera is in Zone B. Here is the government’s official website listing the holiday dates.
